Apartment update!

So in the past week, we finally had our kitchen installed! It was fun trying to make due with our makeshift setup of a rice cooker, water boiler, and panini maker (with the help of a couple of voltage converters), but it is sooo nice to finally have a real kitchen! and even with a built in kühlschrank and a dishwasher too! We also got our new car, which has been fun to drive, even though we haven't spent much time on the autobahn with it as of yet. Here are a couple before and after pictures of the kitchen, the car, and these really cool suction towel hooks from droog design we got in amsterdam for the bathroom (since we are not allowed to drill in the tile, in which the walls are completely covered!).

Amsterdam

Last weekend we took a quick trip up to Amsterdam. We spent three days eating Dutch pancakes, walking around the canals and neighborhoods, and eating spectacular food. I was not expecting to love it as much as I did! Our favorites were the store that sold only toothbrushes, the precarious nature of the cars parked along the canals, and the ease with which English speakers could get around.

Well folks, the internet has arrived in our new apartment ... we're off to Amsterdam tomorrow, so we'll post some pics when we get home!
